The 2017 Blanc de Franc is a unique and exciting sparkling wine. Made in the traditional (or Champagne) method, it was created from 100% Estate-grown Cabernet Franc. As there was no skin contact, the wine is a very light straw in colour. For this release, the bottles were disgorged after 776 days on lees. Subsequent releases of this vintage continue to age on the lees. There was no addition at dosage, as only the same wine was used to replace the lost volume.
Lemon, lime zest, white raspberries, cranberries, and a subtle minerality are part of the inviting nose. The palate is brilliantly crisp and fresh, as the effervescence combines with a rich, subtly creamy mouthfeel to create exceptional texture. Flavours of citrus, gooseberry, sweet herbs, and nuances of currant and raspberry complete the palate.
